Resilience is a powerful concept. It is about the power or ability to recover an original form or position, after being bent, compressed, or stretched.
Challenging life events bend, compress, or stretch us – and sometimes – can feel like they will break us.
Our experience of major life stressors, whether they be a job loss, a career change, divorce, a prolonged illness, an athletic injury that has us side-lined, is not something to take lightly.
And, while we may not always be able to control the circumstance, we can be in control of our experience of it. We are always able to choose how we interpret what is happening to us.
It is in this choosing that we are able to ultimately be resilient in the face of adversity;
If a key to resilience is the ability to rebound, then how does one actually make the springing leap, when feeling so flattened and discouraged?
Turns out, there is a little more to it than just getting up again and brushing one’s self off. I know, I’ve been in your shoes. I’ve worn them to the party. I’ve hiked miles in them.
Because I get the size and fit of that shoe, I created this guide and audio highlighting information I wish I would have had when we were handed our diagnosis of infertility. I packed these resources with information I wish I would have had during the swirling-crazy months leading up to, and the aftermath, of my divorce. And, yes, they are filled with tools and coping strategies and suggestions for happiness habits useful for the days and months called for during times of challenge and change.
While it would be nice to think we could go back to our original form after a life event like infertility, or divorce, or other life event, the reality is we are changed through the act of having been bent, compressed, or stretched, and the key here is, we do not have to be broken by our circumstance.
We can choose to be resilient. We can choose to thrive.
Both the guidebook and the audio will assist you in locating additional resources inside yourself; resources when harnessed, will grant you grace – a little more spaciousness inside yourself – and new and more powerful ways of thinking about and being with your unexpected life event which has brought you challenge and change.
