Labor Day is a mid-year reset button. It functions a bit like New Year’s Day 2.0, except with the abundance of fresh produce and bright, crisp days to fuel the good, let’s-get-it-done energy.
Were you swept up by the excitement of the Olympics this summer? I was completely awed and inspired by what is possible when humans commit time, energy, and attention to their passion.
My thoughts keep coming back to these amazing feats. I admit I’ve been willing to run just a little farther on my morning runs. I think of the mindset of those athletes. To reach for the stars like they did, they had to believe their daily actions would make all the difference, things like what they ate and their dedication during a workout. Not everyone took home a medal, and yet, their commitment to their craft created an amazing event. Every athlete was worth paying attention to because they showed up determined to be and do their best.
This fall, in particular, is a great opportunity to commit or re-commit to fueling the best in ourselves. I personally like to use back-to-school energy of fall to set a short-term goal or two. Ones that will set me up for additional success come January. Why not get started now, while there is warmth and light?
